What I Do
There are various tasks that I am in charge as a staff of contractor such as updating construction plan and schedule, having meetings with subcontractors and local engineers instructing local staffs, in order to be ensure that the work proceeds safely, and smoothly.
In addition, it is also one of my duties to take some corrective measures while having on-site patrol with consultant and carry out quality inspection of the materials.
Worthwhile Tasks of the Job
What I feel worthwhile of this job is that everyone units as a team aiming for the completion of the project with fully and effectively using Japanese technologies. Also, the moments that I can see the changes that local staff’s minds get more passionate for the project as it is proceeds. Feelings of joy comes to me when our projects contribute the development of the country. Working outside Japan is totally different from the way I used to work in Japan, Sometimes I got struggled and stressed to be honest. Despite these circumstance, I feel that I can be a better person as an engineer through working with local staffs. Sometimes strict for the work, sometimes laughing each other.
Future Goals
What I want to be as a construction engineer is working as a project manager in various countries. To aim this achievement, I need more experiences of project management and cost management. In addition, language improvement is the key to have a sooth conversation with everyone around the world.
How I spend my day off
In the circumstance of the pandemic, I spend my day off watching movies and anime in the dormitory. Before the pandemic, I used to enjoy golf, and having meal at restaurant. And also I need to maintain my health condition so that I can manage the project with my fully ability. So I often work out even I am in the dormitory.

5:30 am
Morning preparation
Wake up around 5:30 am, have a breakfast and get ready for the work. Having breakfast is indispensable for working at the site. Generally, Japanese style breakfast is served. -

7:00 am
Morning assembly
Communicate work instructions and precautions for the day in English, French and local languages. -

7:30 am
Site patrol, drawing check
This is a very important task not to affect whole construction progress due to the delay of the drawing check and correction. -

11:30 am
Meeting about the tasks of next date
Having a meeting with employees, local engineers, and subcontractor engineers. Discuss about the problems and materials required for the next process. -

12:00 pm
Lunch Break
Every work day, the cook make Bento-box and deliver it to the site. You can enjoy various flavors in Japanese, Western and Chinese depending on the chef's choice. -

1:00 pm
Inspection correspondence, site patrol
We have a site patrol with on-site supervisor of the consultant and receive the list of the improvements. -

6:00 pm
End of the work of the day, head back to home
We always desire not to get involved in a heavy traffic jam while heading back to home. -

7:00 pm
Dinner time
Usually cook serve dinner for the staff, also sometimes we had a take away dinner. -

10:00 pm
Free time
After we finish dinner, we spend rest of the time as we each want to.
