Social / Environmental Activities
In construction work overseas, DNC conducts various Social and environmental activities to raise local awareness.
Examples of these activities are outlined below.
Site VisitOn-site tours
To raise awareness of DNC infrastructure projects, on-site workers’ family members and local students are invited to view construction sites as a way of facilitating interaction with locals.
Republic of Guinea
We invited 52 private university students in Conakry to the site and had a site tour with a session of question and answer.
Internship
Internships are offered to local students and young engineers as a way of transferring DNC expertise to future leaders and supporting career development.
Republic of Liberia
We conducted on-site management training as part of the training program for university students conducted by the Ministry of Public Works, Republic of Liberia
Community ActivitiesRegional contribution
DNC is committed to beautification around construction sites, and supports activities to meet local needs.
Republic of Mozambique
We donated picture books when a new library was opened near the construction site.
Environmental ProtectionEnvironmental conservation
DNC conducts environmental conservation activities on construction sites and in surrounding areas to help protect biodiversity and the natural environment.
Papua New Guinea Independent Country
We relocated the coral in the construction site when an underwater discharge pipe that discharges treated sewage into the sea was installed.
